Safe Disposal of Non-Recyclable inorganic Waste

Underground waste disposal plants are the safest place to dispose of hazardous inorganic waste that cannot be recovered: As a joint venture partner of K+S, REKS has the exclusive right to use the two Herfa-Neurode and Zielitz underground waste disposal plants. Herfa-Neurode is the world’s first and largest underground waste disposal plant. Millions of tonnes of waste have been long-term safely disposed of here.

Exclusion criteria

We have a long list of materials that we can dispose of, which is only limited by our acceptance criteria and a small number of exclusion criteria.

Waste with one or more of the following properties will NOT be accepted by any of the K + S sites.

At REKS, the process—from inquiry to underground disposal at the UTD—is quick and hassle-free. Here are the main types of waste — the list of waste that can be accepted is very long.
